Job Responsibilities of the Housekeeper-Nanny

  • Provide all aspects of care for four (4) children two (2) teenagers, and two (2) young adults.
  • Create and maintain a healthy, safe and nurturing environment for the children.
  • Meal planning, preparation and cooking for the children when the principals are not in residence.
  • Planning and cooking of healthy meals, including snacks for the whole family when in residence.
  • Pay particular attention to food safety and hygiene ensuring that the food is properly cooked.
  • General errand running, including grocery shopping.
  • Laundry, including beds linens, towels and clothes.
  • Cleaning of the children’s environment.
  • Taking the children to and from appointments and activities.
  • Organizing and participating to various leisure activities at home and outdoor.
  • Working in collaboration with the other members of the household staff.
  • Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintaining the general appearance of the whole residence.
  • Care of fine furnishings, finishes and delicate surfaces including care of arts, antiques, silver, marble, etc.
  • Keep the children playing space clean and tidy.
  • Washing, ironing, steaming and linen care, including washing delicate fabrics.
  • Making beds and ironing sheets.
  • Closet organization, always maintaining personal effects properly.
  • Packing, unpacking and transport of suitcases.
  • Flower arrangement and plant management.
  • Dishes, pots and pans cleaning.
  • Trash and Recycling management.
  • Remove snow from balcony and patio.
  • Provide high quality services in a professional, courteous and accommodating manner to the principal, guests, staff and outside service providers.
  • Perform table setting and table service during events.
  • Help with private and social events.
  • Working in collaboration with the other members of the household staff.
  • Handling general requests as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience working full-time in a private household with similar responsibilities.
  • Good English communication skills (mandatory).
  • Flexibility to work outside of strict job description parameters.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Flexibility in the working hours, according to the employer’s needs.
  • Have a keen sense of initiative.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Energetic with a strong work ethic and communication skill.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the children.
  • Professional and always maintain confidentiality.
  • Must know how to swim.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • Smoke-free environment.
  • Must be willing to travel with the family within Canada.

Job Salary

Depending on experience

Job Additional Information

  • This is a Live-in position with accommodation provided.
  • 2 weeks paid vacation.
  • Working week is Thursday to Monday 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
