Job Responsibilities of the Private Chauffeur-Service and Facility Coordinator

Driving Tasks

  • Drive family members and other persons as directed.
  • Transport family property as directed including luggage runs to and from aircraft.
  • Perform errands and deliveries as directed.
  • Act on behalf of the employer’s requests and report such to the various House Managers.
  • Maintain the household fleet of vehicles (paperwork; scheduling regular servicing; repairs; insurance documentation; and, permits).
  • Be pro-active in investigating routes so that traffic delays can be avoided, where possible
  • Remain on standby when family members are in residence as part of a shift work system.

Maintenance Tasks

  • Hands-on service in all elements of hospitality, in conjunction with additional members of the household staff.
  • Keep a running list of repairs for the properties.
  • Running errands, and concierge work as needed and upon request.
  • Maintenance will include: painting; basic carpentry; moving furniture; transporting items; meeting contractors; obtaining contractor estimates; changing light bulbs; and, other duties as directed.
  • Assist with obtaining external services for repairs and maintenance when necessary.
  • Assist as directed at other family properties.
  • Complete regular property checks as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Light general housekeeping when needed to support team during busy periods.
  • Liaise with contractors working on site.Security-related Tasks

Security-related Tasks

  • Manage the security systems at the Toronto residences, report any faults or irregularities to the House Manager.
  • Report any irregularities or suspicious activities to the Operations Manager.
  • Always check garden and security lighting is working and effective. Ensure that garden display lighting is positioned correctly as advised by the House Manager.
  • Occasionally, out of hours, provide access to, and meet with, contractors.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years executive driving experience is required.
  • The successful candidate shall have a thorough knowledge of roads and of traffic patterns in the Toronto area, and will be expected to complete recces for trips to new or unknown destinations.
  • Experience in security is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the treatment and handling of antiques, fine art and furniture is an asset.
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate long hours, some irregular shifts, possibly some requiring overnight stays on extended trips, and travel.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be punctual, organized, and extremely flexible and possess ability to multi-task.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and time management skills, document travel logs, track expense accounts, petty cash, etc.
  • Must possess resourcefulness to appropriately address and troubleshoot unexpected tasks/emergencies.
  • Must possess leadership qualities, as well as ability to take a back seat as a team player, taking direction from various business units of the company.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Clean driver’s abstract.
  • Must have a current legal working status in Canada.

Job Salary

$70,000 to $85,000, according to experience.
